Joshua Heinrichs Detained after Road Rage Incident on Reed Avenue and Adams Avenue

 
REEDLEY, CA (April 27, 2022) — Officials arrested 35-year-old Joshua Heinrichs of Reedley after a road rage crash on Monday, April 26.
 
According to Fresno County deputies, the incident happened at around 9:00 p.m. in the area of Reed Avenue and Adams Avenue.
 
Deputies got a report that the driver of a Honda Accord later identified as Heinrichs fired multiple shots. Heinrichs also struck their vehicle as they tried to pass him.
 
According to deputies, they spotted the car driving around 100 miles per hour near North Avenue and McCall Avenue. With the assistance of helicopter Eagle One from the sheriff’s office, they were able to pursue Heinrichs.
 
After running over a spike strip near Highway 180 and Academy Avenue, Heinrichs continued to drive, reaching speeds of 117 miles per hour. Then his vehicle stopped at an apartment in Orange Cove and he ran inside an apartment unit to someone he knew.
 
A SWAT team tried to negotiate with everyone in the apartment, but they refused to exit.
 
Deputies said at around 5:30 a.m., SWAT members prepared to enter the apartment. Then two women walked out of the front door and were detained.
 
Meanwhile, Heinrichs escaped through a back window and tried to climb down to a nearby building where officers arrested him.
