Joshua Brock, Russell Pene Jr. Involved, 3 Children Hurt in Car Crash on Sunfair Dry Lake near Sunfair Road

 
JOSHUA TREE, CA (January 6, 2022) — Joshua Brock and Russell Pene Jr. were involved in a two-car accident on Sunfair Dry Lake near Sunfair Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. For unknown reasons, 46-year-old Pene crashed his westbound 1974 GMC truck into an eastbound 2011 Nissan Frontier. Reportedly, both vehicles were driving on the lake bed over dirt beams prior to noticing each other and avoiding the looming accident.
 
As a result, two 12-year-old girls and a 4-year-old boy in the Nissan suffered minor to major injuries. Soon after, paramedics brought one 12-year-old girl to Loma Linda hospital by helicopter and the other 12-year-old girl and 4-year-old to Desert Regional Medical Center.
 
At this time, authorities have ruled out DUI as a possible reason for the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
