SHASTA COUNTY, CA (March 18, 2021) -Medics sent Josh Paoli to the hospital following a head-on crash on Highway 44 on March 16.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Fisher Road around 11:30 AM.
 
Based on a report, 30-year-old Josh Paoli of Shingletown was heading eastbound when he saw another driver hit a deer. Subsequently, he made a U-turn to help and was hit head-on by a truck going west on the road.
 
As a result, Paoli sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. A woman who lives nearby called 9-1-1 then quickly rushed in to help him before emergency crews arrived for rescue. The driver of the other truck was not hurt. In addition, the driver who hit a deer drove away uninjured.
 
At this point, an investigation into the case is still ongoing.
