Joseph Bennett III Killed in Accident on Frontage Road [Oakland, CA]

Coroner Identifies Joseph Bennett III as Fatal Victim of Early Morning Crash in Oakland

 
OAKLAND, CA (January 17, 2022) – Joseph Bennett III died in an accident in West Oakland, early Monday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened around 1:50 a.m. on January 17 in the 800 block of Frontage Road near Seventh Street. According to the Oakland Police Department, Bennett was driving a Ford Explorer southbound on Frontage Road when he crashed into the rear of a trailer that was parked in the center divider.
 
As a result, Bennett suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 50-year-old Oakland resident, the coroner’s office said.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
 
The fatality remains under investigation. Police asked anyone with further information to call them at 510-777-8570.
