Jose Ramirez Involved in DUI Accident on Highway 99 in Tehama County
TEHAMA COUNTY, CA (November 23, 2021) – Officials identified Jose Ramirez as the victim who suffered injuries in a bicycle accident on Highway 99 on November 8.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Orangewood Road around 8:15 AM.
Based on a report, Ramirez was riding a bicycle in the middle of the southbound lane prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup struck him.
As a result, Ramirez suffered major injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported the victim by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff for treatment. Officials identified him as 36-year-old Jose Luis Ramirez of Corning. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt in the incident.
In the end, CHP officers said Ramirez was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
