Jose Perez Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101 near Garden Street

 
VENTURA, CA (September 30, 2021) — Jose Perez died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 near Garden Street Tuesday morning.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the deadly incident happened around 12:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, 40-year-old Perez was walking along the southbound highway. Subsequently, an oncoming 2019 Honda Civic struck him.
 
Shortly after, authorities and paramedics arrived to pronounce Perez, of Oxnard, dead at the scene.
 
The 26-year-old Port Hueneme man operating the Honda stayed for the investigation, which ruled out DUI as a possible source.
