21-Year-Old Dies after Motorcycle Crashes into Truck on East Lerdo Highway

 
SHAFTER, CA (March 15, 2021) – A man died in a motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon in Shafter near Minter Field.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the motorcyclist as 21-year-old Jonathan Isaiah Rosales Montes of Shafter.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:37 p.m., March 9 on East Lerdo Highway and Vultee Street. Montes was riding his motorcycle when he crashed into a truck for unknown reasons.
 
As a result, Montes sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
No other injuries were reported.
 
CHP officials are still trying to determine the exact cause of the crash and factors involved.
