Jon Charbonnet, Julius Cunanan Die in Jamul Motorcycle-Bicycle Accident
JAMUL, CA (January 22, 2021) — Two Chula Vista men died in a motorcycle-bicycle accident on Otay Lakes Road near Campo Road Sunday.
According to reports, the fatal crash happened in the 14100 block of Otay Lakes Road.
For unknown reasons, 43-year-old Jonathan Michael Charbonnet crashed his eastbound motorcycle into an eastbound bicyclist.
As a result of the 9:30 a.m. collision, Charbonnet and 40-year-old Julius Kim Cunanan perished in the crash.
Per news reports and police records, the impact ejected both riders onto the road. As a result of the impact, both of the victims died in the accident.
According to investigators, the crash happened as Cunanan was riding with a group of bicyclists, although trailing behind them.
At this time, the accident remains unclear, However, an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
