John Vanderlinde Hospitalized in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash in Merced County

 
MERCED COUNTY, CA (April 2, 2021) — John Vanderlinde suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 140 near Cunningham Road Tuesday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened around 10:22 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, an eastbound vehicle struck the 52-year-old from behind, who was walking east along the highway.
 
Failing to render aid, the driver continued east toward Mariposa. Soon after, paramedics arrived and airlifted Vanderlinde to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment.
 
At this time, detectives have no information on the driver. However, they believe that he or she was driving a white 2015 or newer Ford F-250 or F-350 model.
