Aaron Morgan and John Guzzardo Die in Lakewood Multi-Vehicle Accident

 
LAKEWOOD, CA (June 8, 2021) – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident on South Street in Lakewood Friday evening, June 4.
 
The coroner’s office identified the victims as 48-year-old Lakewood resident Aaron Morgan and 49-year-old John Guzzardo of Park Ridge, Illinois.
 
The accident happened around 10:00 p.m. in the 6100 block of South Street near Gondar Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, three vehicles collided for unknown reasons.
 
First responders pronounced Guzzardo and Morgan dead at the scene. According to family, the two men were close friends.
 
The crash also injured three other people. Guzzardo’s 14-year-old son was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to the hospital where he was admitted to the ICU. The other two victims suffered minor to moderate injuries.
 
Authorities have not released further details on the cause of the crash, but one person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
 
Further investigation is underway.
