Jesus Olivares ID’d in Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Oxnard

 
OXNARD, CA (February 9, 2021) – 35-year-old Jesus Olivares died after his motorcycle collided with a car near the El Rio area Saturday night.
 
Based on information released by the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 7:10 p.m.
 
Olivares was operating a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Vineyard Avenue. A 2012 Toyota Camry was also northbound on the same road.
 
When the Camry made a U-turn across both northbound lanes to southbound Vineyard Avenue, Olivares’ motorcycle crashed into the driver’s door of the car.
 
First responders found Olivares down on the road, while the driver was trapped inside the Camry. Paramedics transported Olivares to Ventura County Medical Center. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the 53-year-old Santa Paula man driving the Camry received treatment also at VCMC for major injuries.
 
Officials had to shut down some lanes of Vineyard Avenue while they processed the scene. All lanes reopened after about two hours.
