Driver Jerry Criss Dies after Car Crashes into Several Other Vehicles, Bursts into Flames in Oildale

 
OILDALE, CA (June 9, 2022) – Jerry Wayne Criss was killed in a fiery accident in Oildale late Monday afternoon on June 6.
 
The accident happened around 5:20 p.m. in the 500 block of Woodrow Avenue near Oildale Drive. According to reports, Criss crashed his car into several vehicles and a fence. The impact caused his car to burst into flames.
 
Criss suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 21-year-old Bakersfield resident, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
 
The passenger in his vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
 
It is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is still ongoing.
