Jean Marschner Unharmed in Fatal Motorcycle, Big Rig Crash on Highway 299 near Indian Creek Lodge

 
DOUGLAS CITY, CA (August 9, 2022) — Jean Marschner was involved in a deadly motorcycle and big rig accident on Highway 299 near Indian Creek Lodge on Thursday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 58-year-old Lewiston woman operating a westbound motorcycle on the highway veered into the eastbound lanes while rounding a right-hand curve. Subsequently, her motorcycle crossed into the path of an oncoming Peterbilt big rig.
 
In an attempt to avoid an imminent crash, 69-year-old Marschner stepped on his brakes and turned to the right. However, both vehicles collided head-on.
 
Tragically, the unidentified motorcyclist died in the accident. At this time, CHP officers do not know if impairment played a part in the accident. However, an investigation into the details should clarify outstanding information.
