Car Crashes Down Embankment on 5 Freeway in Downey Killing One and Injuring Two

 
DOWNEY, CA (March 6, 2022)Jaylon Connish died and two other students suffered injuries in car accident on 5 Freeway in Downey, late Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened around 10:50 p.m. on March 5 near the southbound 605 Freeway transition road. According to the CHP, a gray Nissan Altima went approximately 200 yards down an embankment, struck a light pole and rolled several times.
 
There were three people inside the car, including Jensen. The driver is 18 years old and the passengers were both minors. They were students of Warren High School.
 
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded and rushed the three patients to an area trauma center, where Jensen later succumbed to their injuries. He was one of the passengers.
 
The driver and the other passenger were treated for major injuries
 
At this time, the cause of this fatal crash remains under investigation.
