Javier Mora Jr., Ricardo Acosta Jr., and Suzette Dobbs Killed in Car Accident on Highway 43 [Shafter, CA]

3 Dead after Car Crash on Highway 43 and Fresno Avenue

 
SHAFTER, CA (April 27, 2021) — Authorities identified 19-year-old Javier Mora Jr. of Wasco as the passenger killed in a Shafter crash.
 
According to the Shafter Police Department, the incident happened on Highway 43 and Fresno Avenue. A Chrysler Aspen traveled west on Fresno Avenue. Simultaneously, a 2009 BMW 328i moved south on Highway 43. The vehicles crashed in the intersection at around 4:42 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20.
 
Mora Jr. died at the scene. The two drivers of the vehicle, 19-year-old Ricardo Antonio Trujillo Acosta Jr. of Wasco and 79-year-old Suzette Lean Dobbs of Shafter, suffered serious injuries. Paramedics rushed them both to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries and died.
 
Police have not yet determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
 
The investigation about the crash is still underway.
