Jaqueline Ruiz Killed in Off-Road Accident near Salinas River and Highway 101

 
SOLEDAD, CA (May 18, 2022) — Jaqueline Ruiz died in an off-road crash near Salinas River and Highway 101 on Saturday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the illegal off-road incident happened when Ruiz and a female passenger were off-roading in a Polaris Razor. For unknown reasons, Ruiz lost control of the vehicle before it overturned and crushed her.
 
As a result of the accident, the Watsonville woman suffered fatal injuries. Paramedics arrived soon after and treated her female passenger, who suffered injuries of unknown severity.
 
At this time, an investigation into the crash should confirm any outstanding details. Although, police say DUI might have played a role in the accident, and neither occupant was wearing a helmet or seat belt at the time of the impact.
