Janet Willson Killed, Two Injured after Bridgepointe Shopping Center Crash in San Mateo
SAN MATEO, CA (November 29, 2022) – Authorities identified 77-year-old Janet Kay Wilson of San Mateo as the victim killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Fashion Island Boulevard, Wednesday.
According to the San Mateo Police Department, the incident happened on November 16, at about 12:03 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, three vehicles collided near the entrance of Bridgepointe Shopping Center.
Emergency crews rushed three victims to a local trauma center. One of the victims, later identified as Wilson, died the next day.
Meanwhile, the two other victims remain in stable condition.
Responders closed the shopping center’s west entrance for several hours to make way for an investigation.
San Mateo police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
