Passenger James Trigueiro Dies in Head-On Accident on Highway 99 near East Evans Reimer Road

 
GRIDLEY, CA (January 31, 2022) – James Trigueiro was killed in a head-on accident on Highway 99 in Gridley area on Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 6:47 a.m. on January 23, near East Evans Reimer Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound on the highway. For unknown reasons, it crossed into the northbound lane of traffic and collided head-on with a semi truck.
 
Trigueiro, a 23-year-old passenger in the Nissan, suffered fatal injuries and died at the hospital.
 
The driver of the Nissan, also 23 years old from Yuba City, and another passenger sustained major injuries. Paramedics transported both patients to a hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi was unharmed.
 
At this time, this fatal crash remains under investigation. Officials asked anyone with further information to contact the CHP Oroville Area at 530-538-2700.
