Driver Dies after Ejected in Crash on Carquinez Scenic Drive in Port Costa

 
PORT COSTA, CA (March 3, 2021) – Authorities on Monday identified a Vallejo man who died in a car accident in Port Costa last week.
 
The accident happened around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, February 24 on Carquinez Scenic Drive west of Canyon Lake Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, 64-year-old James Bogart was driving a gray Dodge Grand Caravan when he went off the roadway for unknown reasons.
 
The car went down an embankment and slammed into a tree. Bogart suffered significant injuries and died at the scene.
 
Toxicology tests conducted during an autopsy will determine whether he was impaired. However, an investigation is ongoing.
