LA Rapper Ketchy the Great, Jameon Davis, Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident

LONG BEACH, CA (February 17, 2021) – The coroner’s office identified 26-year-old Jameon Davis as the man who died in a pedestrian accident Monday morning in Long Beach.

Davis, best known by his rap alias Ketchy the Great, was a member of the Los Angeles underground rap group, Stinc Team.

In addition to his collaborations with the Stinc Team, Davis was a prolific solo artist. His breakout 2017 track “If I Go Broke,” was met with acclaim, and in 2018 he was also featured on 03 Greedo’s album, “The Wolf of Grape Street.”

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Davis was standing in the roadway shortly after 5:45 a.m. Monday. He was first struck by a 28-year-old man driving a 2004 Nissan 350z traveling northbound on Long Beach Boulevard.

The impact threw Davis into the southbound lanes, where he was struck a second time by a 28-year-old woman driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra, police said.

Davis suffered severe injuries and died at the scene.

Police did not suspect alcohol or drugs as a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
