Jaime Dodge Killed in DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 111 [Palm Desert, CA]

34-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Vehicle in Palm Desert, Driver Arrested for DUI and Hit-and-Run

 
PALM DESERT, CA (April 12, 2023) – Jaime Dodge was killed in a DUI hit-and-run crash in Palm Desert Monday evening on April 10.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on Highway 111 at Deep Canyon Road. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 21-year-old Christian Ruvalcaba of Palm Desert was driving a silver Honda CRV when he struck Dodge.
 
Ruvalcaba then fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
When deputies arrived, they found Dodge suffering from major injuries. They administered life-saving measures before taking him to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.
 
Sadly, Dodge did not survive and was pronounced dead at 10:00 p.m. He was 34 years old from Palm Desert, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
 
Deputies later located Ruvalcaba and the suspect vehicle in Beaumont. They arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, felony hit and run and vehicular manslaughter.
 
Ruvalcaba was booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
