Hit-and-Run Accident on 91 Freeway in Compton; Boyfriend Michael Fiorillo and Girlfriend Jadelynn Kwok Identified

 
COMPTON, CA (May 6, 2022) – Two people were killed in a hit-and-run accident on 91 Freeway in Compton on Saturday, April 30.
 
24-year-old Michael Fiorillo of Huntington Beach and 18-year-old Jadelynn Kwok of El Monte died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. Family members stated that Kwok and Fiorillo were together as girlfriend and boyfriend.
 
The accident happened around 12:40 a.m. on April 30 west of Acacia Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda struck the left side of Fiorillo’s Toyota 4-Runner. As a result, the crash sent the Toyota into the right dirt shoulder, where it struck a pole.
 
The Honda driver fled the scene in the vehicle.
 
The CHP initially said their investigation revealed that the parties were with a group of street racers on the eastbound freeway. However, they later deleted that finding.
 
Officials arrived and pronounced Kwok and Fiorillo dead at the scene. Family friends set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for funeral expenses.
 
This fatal crash is under investigation. However, anyone with further information about the case or the suspect’s vehicle is asked to contact the CHP’s South Los Angeles area office at 424-551-4000.
