Speeding Rider Dies after Colliding with Pickup Truck on 118 Freeway in Simi Valley

 
SIMI VALLEY, CA (May 23, 2022) – Isac Chavez died in a two-vehicle accident on 118 Freeway, late Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 11:20 p.m. on May 21, just east of Rocky Peak Road. the California Highway Patrol, the 27-year-old victim was riding a white 2008 Suzuki GXSR motorcycle westbound at excessive speed.
 
Chavez then made an unsafe turning movement to the right and rear-ended a blue Toyota Tundra.
 
The impact ejected Chavez from his motorcycle. He landed in the fourth lane of traffic, where he was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:41 p.m.
 
It is unknown if the driver of the pickup truck has stayed after the crash.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved. Further investigation is underway.
