Bus Involved in Multi-Vehicle Accident on San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge near Yerba Buena Island

 
OAKLAND, CA (September 27, 2021) – Several people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, early Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 24, at about 4:50 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, four vehicles, including a bus, collided near Yerba Buena Island.
 
Emergency crews rendered aid to the injured victims. However, the exact number of people injured remains unknown.
 
As per reports, the accident resulted in a huge backup at the toll plaza and CHP later issued a SigAlert. Responders reopened the closed lanes at 7:25 a.m.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
