Hugo Martinez Killed in Accident on 91 Freeway [Long Beach, CA]

Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Big Rig on 91 Freeway at Cherry Avenue

 
LONG BEACH, CA (June 6, 2021) – Hugo Gonzalez Martinez died in a traffic accident on Artesia (91) Freeway in Long Beach Friday morning, June 4.
 
The accident happened around 9:10 a.m. at the Cherry Avenue off-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 25-year-old victim from Long Beach was riding a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle. For unknown reason, he was ejected from his bike onto the roadway and rolled into the third lane of traffic.
 
While down in the roadway, a 2011 Freightliner big rig then struck Martinez.
 
As a result, Martinez suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the big rig was not injured.
 
At this time, CHP officials are still investigating the accident.
