BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 11, 2022) — A horse was seriously injured in a car accident on Casa Loma Drive at Union Avenue on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 6:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck a horse that was carrying the horse rider and a 5-year-old.
 
Due to the accident, the horse suffered serious injuries and the SUV sustained major damage. At this time, reports did not mention whether the 5-year-old or the horse rider sustained any wounds. However, we will update this report once we receive additional information.
