102-Year-Old Helen Morris Dies after Struck by Unattended Vehicle in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (December 13, 2021)Helen Morris died in a pedestrian accident in Long Beach on Thursday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 3:40 p.m. on December 9 in the 4500 block of Tolbert Avenue. According to the Long Beach Police Department, the 102-year-old woman was seating in a rolling walker on the sidewalk in front of her home when an unattended vehicle rolled backwards and struck her. The vehicle had been parked in her driveway by a family member.
 
Family members who witnessed the collision stopped the vehicle from rolling any further and provided aid to Morris until paramedics arrived.
 
First responders rushed Morris to a hospital, where she later died.
 
The last operator of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
