Hector Cardenas Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver on Jurupa Avenue in Riverside

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 17, 2021) – Police identified Hector Cardenas as the man who died in a pedestrian accident on Jurupa Avenue on February 15.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened about 200 feet west of Florence Street at approximately 7:45 PM.
 
Based on a report, Hector Cardenas had been laying and standing in the path of oncoming cars prior to the crash. Eventually, a silver Subaru Impreza travelling westbound on Jurupa struck him. Subsequently, the vehicle driver then fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
 
As a result, the Riverside Police Department and coroner officials said the victim died at the scene. Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner identified Cardenas as a 31-year-old Ontario resident.
 
At this point, Riverside PD is continuing to search for the driver of the Subaru.
