Heath McCormick Dead, Eric Lopez Detained in DUI Motorcycle Accident on Orange Olive Road at Meats Avenue

 
ORANGE, CA (September 22, 2021)Heath McCormick died in a DUI motorcycle accident on Orange Olive Road at Meats Avenue Monday.
 
According to police, the fatal collision occurred around 5:27 p.m. For DUI reasons, 24-year-old Eric Lopez collided with an oncoming motorcyclist, later identified by the Orange County coroner’s office as Heath Christian McCormick.
 
As a result of the collision, the 45-year-old rider from Orange died in the crash.
 
Shortly after, investigators responded and interviewed the 24-year-old Anaheim man and arrested him on suspicion of DUI marijuana use and vehicular manslaughter.
 
Per reports, Lopez had either attempted a U-turn or a left turn on eastbound Meats Avenue as McCormick was headed north on Orange Olive Road before both parties crashed. However, if anyone has additional information on this accident, please contact the Orange Police Department.
