Two Killed, Gustavo Ruelas Jr. Arrested for Drugged-Driving Inglewood Accident
INGLEWOOD, CA (April 29, 2021) – Gustavo Ruelas Jr. is facing charges after a police chase led to a fatal accident on Glasgow Avenue on April 26.
An innocent man and woman were killed when a speeding driver believed to be under the influence of drugs slammed into their car during a pursuit near Los Angeles International Airport. According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Olive Street.
Based on a report, officers chased Ruelas Jr. after his pickup truck ran a red light near 405 Freeway. Then, officers followed and attempted to pull him over. The suspect refused and a chase ensued. Then, he exited the freeway and T-boned a sedan.
As a result, a female passenger in the sedan died at the scene. Emergency crews transported the
driver to a hospital, where he also died. Their names were not immediately available pending kin notification.
Subsequently, 42-year-old Ruelas Jr. tried to run away from the scene but officers caught him. They believed the suspect was under the influence of drugs at that time. In addition, CHP said he has an extensive criminal history and that they found drugs in his truck.
