Motorcyclist Dies after Colliding with Vehicle at Laurel Road and Mellowood Drive

 
OAKLEY, CA (February 1, 2023) – Gustavo Garcia was killed in a motorcycle accident in Oakley early Sunday morning on January 29.
 
The fatal accident happened around 3:10 a.m. at the intersection of Laurel Road and Mellowood Drive. According to the Oakley Police Department, Garcia was riding his motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he collided with a vehicle. The impact sent the motorcycle at least 100 yards up a steep road.
 
Garcia suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 48-year-old Brentwood resident.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
