Gonzalo Bustamante-Ruiz Detained in DUI Crash on 9th Street near Wisenor Avenue

 
MODESTO, CA (December 29, 2021) — Gonzalo Bustamante-Ruiz faces charges in Tuesday’s DUI accident on 9th Street near Wisenor Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 5:38 p.m. For DUI-related reasons, 58-year-old Bustamante-Ruiz drove his Honda Accord to the right of the northbound lane. Subsequently, the Honda drove up a flatbed trailer attached to a Dodge pickup and crashed through its rear window.
 
As a result of the accident, three people sitting inside the legally parked Dodge suffered minor injuries. Fortuitously, the left rear Dodge passenger had just exited the vehicle nearly 30 seconds prior to the accident, escaping major injury, at least.
