SANTA MARIA, CA (October 14, 2021) — A young girl suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on Railroad Avenue at El Camino Street Wednesday morning.
 
According to Santa Maria Police, the pedestrian crash happened at approximately 8:00 a.m. Under unclear road conditions, a driver struck the young child as she made her way to school.
 
As a result, she suffered major injuries in the crash, urging paramedics to transport her to a hospital for treatment.
 
At this time, police officers have not indicated the circumstances or cause of the crash. However, they have ruled out DUI as a possible source and did not arrest or cite the driver.
