Gina Garcia Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 101 in Thousand Oaks
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (February 10, 2021) – Police arrested Gina Garcia after a fatal crash on northbound Highway 101 on February 4.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Borchard Road.
Based on a report, Garcia’s Kia had drifted into the fast lane and hit a grey Chevrolet SUV. Subsequently, it veered back into the slow lane and hit a black Toyota sedan. Due to impact, the Kia ended up in the brush before hitting a tree and overturning on its roof.
As a result, Garcia’s two passengers – a 24-year-old Oxnard woman and a 25-year-old Ventura man — died in the crash. Their names were withheld pending notification of their families. Crews transported Garcia to the hospital with major injuries. The drivers of the two other vehicles were not hurt.
In conclusion, officials arrested Garcia, 58, of Ventura on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and vehicular manslaughter.
