George Jarrell, Odell Riggins, Johnathan Monday Hurt, Richard Swerda Detained in Forest Ranch Hit-and-Run

 
FOREST RANCH, CA (January 26, 2022) — George Jarrell and five others were injured in Saturday’s hit-and-run accident on Highway 32 near Forest Ranch Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the head-on collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, Richard Swerda, of Forest Ranch, drove into the path of an oncoming Ford vehicle, occupied by five people. In an attempt to avoid the imminent accident, 21-year-old Jarrell steered his Ford out of the way. However, Swerda turned his Toyota to the right and crash head-on with the Ford vehicle anyway.
 
Soon after, paramedics brought Jarrell, 19-year-old Odell Riggins and 19-year-old Johnathan Monday — all Ford occupants — to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
 
Meanwhile, medics also brought a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old to the hospital. As for Swerda, he reportedly left the scene, but CHP officers arrested him and charged him with felony hit-and-run not long after.
 
At this time, the crash requires more investigation. Therefore, those with insight should call the CHP.
