Passenger Gail Forte Dies in Sonoma County Chain-Reaction Crash

SONOMA COUNTY, CA (July 23, 2021)Gail Forte died in a chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles Wednesday.

The accident happened around 4:40 p.m. on Old Adobe Road, just west of Stage Gulch Road. CHP officials said 78-year-old Arnold Riebli of Sonoma was driving a Chevrolet Colorado eastbound on Old Adobe Road. At the same time, 51-year-old Israel Montanez Rodrigues of Napa was driving a Chevrolet Silverado in the same direction.

Traveling westbound was a man in a Chevolet Volt with Forte as a passenger.

For unknown reasons, the Colorado rear-ended the Silverado. The Silverado then traveled across the double-yellow lines into the westbound lane, where it collided head-on with the Volt.

As a result, Forte suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 63-year-old Napa resident, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.

Rodrigues and the driver of the Volt both sustained major injuries. Riebli had minor injuries.

The CHP asked anyone with information regarding this crash to call the Santa Rosa CHP Office at 707-588-1400.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Gail Forte.
