Gabriel Ramirez-Bustamante Hit and Killed by Car on 5 Freeway [Orland, CA]

39-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car in Orland

 
ORLAND, CA (December 20, 2023) – Gabriel Ramirez-Bustamante was hit and killed by a car in Orland early Sunday morning on December 17.
 
The fatal crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on 5 Freeway, just south of County Road 7. According to the California Highway Patrol, Luis Franco of Phoenix was heading northbound on the freeway when he struck Ramirez-Bustamante that was also walking north.
 
The impact caused Ramirez-Bustamante fatal injuries and he died at the scene. He was a 39-year-old Walnut Creek resident.
 
CHP officials said drunk driving was not a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
