Francisco Resendiz Dies after Unsafely Passing Traffic and Colliding into Oncoming Car

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 28, 2021) – Francisco Bahena Resendiz died in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday, December 21.
 
The accident happened on David Road, just east of Mettler Frontage Road. CHP officials said Resendiz was driving a Ford Ranger westbound on David Road. He started to unsafely pass traffic when he went into the eastbound lane and hit an oncoming Toyota Tundra.
 
Resendiz suffered fatal injuries from the impact and died at the scene. He was a 51-year-old Bakersfield resident, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
 
It is unknown if the other driver sustained injuries from the crash.
 
CHP officials said alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors. An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
