DUI Crash on Shaw Avenue in Fresno County Leaves 4 People Dead
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (January 13, 2025) – Four were killed in a DUI crash at Shaw Avenue and Floyd Avenue in Fresno County late Friday evening.
The fatal crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. on January 10. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford van was heading southbound on Floyd Avenue approaching the intersection with Shaw Avenue. It continued into the intersection, failing to yield the right of way to a Nissan Altima that was going westbound on Shaw Avenue, colliding into it.
The impact caused the two vehicles to catch fire.
Two men, who were passengers in the Nissan, were able to get themselves out of the car with moderate injuries.
The driver and one passenger in the van, as well as the driver and one passenger of the Nissan Altima, died at the scene.
Two other passengers inside the van sustained minor injuries.
Authorities believe alcohol and/or drugs may be a factor in the crash. Anyone with further information about the crash is asked to call the Fresno Area CHP at 559-262-0400.
