Car Crashes into Building after Two-Vehicle Accident on Lincoln Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 4, 2021) – Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Lincoln Avenue, Monday January 18.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 4:30 p.m. A southbound silver Mazda failed to stop at a stop sign on Cornelia Avenue. Then, the Mazda broadsided an eastbound gray Maserati on Lincoln Avenue.
The impact of the crash caused the Maserati to spin out of control. The Maserati then slammed into an abandoned building.
Emergency crews later transported four people – the Maserati driver, his two passengers, and the Mazda driver – to Community Regional Medical Center. All victims sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Authorities did not release the names of the victims. CHP ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the accident.
When approaching a stop sign, make sure to slow down and come to a complete stop just before the sign. Scan for any oncoming vehicles, and keep an eye out for possible road hazards. Also, practice defensive driving when entering intersections.
