Multi-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway in Sylmar Hurts 4

 
SYLMAR, CA (January 5, 2022) – Four people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway in Sylmar Monday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:10 p.m. on January 3, near 405 Freeway. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, several vehicles collided along the southbound freeway for unknown reasons. The impact sent one of the vehicles over the side of the freeway and down a hill.
 
When officers arrived, they found a total of four injured patients. A 16-year-old girl, an 18-year-old woman, a 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
 
The 17-year-old boy and 20-year-old man were unable to walk back up the side of the hill.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
