Car Crashes into Tent on 680 Freeway in San Jose Injuring Four People Including Driver

 
SAN JOSE, CA (June 20, 2023) – Four people were injured in a car accident on 680 Freeway in San Jose Saturday evening on June 17.
 
The accident happened around 8:00 p.m. at the East Capitol Expressway on-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, a car veered off the freeway and into a homeless encampment.
 
San Jose Fire Department crews responded and found the driver and three people from the camp with minor injuries.
 
All four patients were taken to a hospital for treatment.
 
At this time, police are investigating if alcohol played a role in the crash.
