Forklift-Car Accident on Old River Road Kills Jesus Peraza

 
BUTTONWILLOW, CA (November 19, 2021) – A forklift driver died after a collision with a vehicle in Buttonwillow on Tuesday, November 9.
 
Authorities identified the fatal victim as 47-year-old Jesus Adalberto Rosales Peraza of Bakersfield.
 
The accident happened at about 8:10 p.m. on northbound Old River Road, just east of Valpredo Avenue near Maricopa. According to the California Highway Patrol, Peraza’s forklift collided with a vehicle on Old River Road.
 
Peraza died on the scene, CHP said.
 
When officers arrived, they found the other driver suffered moderate injuries. At this time, police did not provide an update on their injuries.
 
Drugs and alcohol do not seem to be factors in the crash. However, the accident remains under investigation.
