Commuter Bus and Three Cars Collide on Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek Injuring 5, 1 Critically

 
WALNUT CREEK, CA (March 15, 2023) – Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Ygnacio Valley Road in Walnut Creek Thursday afternoon on March 9.
 
The accident happened right near the Walnut Creek BART station. According to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, a commuter bus servicing the Bishop Ranch business district of San Ramon and three other cars collided in the area.
 
As a result, one person suffered critical injuries. Three other patients had minor to moderate injuries.
 
Ten people inside the county bus were evaluated for injuries.
 
Con Fire said the cause of the crash appeared to be a vehicle exiting 680 Freeway was going too fast for the rainy conditions. Further investigation is underway.
