Rollover Accident on Mohrhardt Ridge Road near Cazadero Kills 2 and Injures 3

 
CAZADERO, CA (December 22, 2022) – A father and son were killed in a rollover accident on Mohrhardt Ridge Road near Cazadero late Monday afternoon.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:45 p.m. on December 19, near Happy Hills Ranch Road. According to the CHP, a 32-year-old man was driving a Jeep that carried his three sons along Mohrhardt Ridge when the vehicle overturned, slid down a steep embankment and crashed into a ravine 300 feet below.
 
A 49-year-old man, the driver of a second Jeep, attempted to help those in the first Jeep. However, his vehicle also slid down the same embankment.
 
A third motorist, who had been following the vehicles on a four-wheeler, called 911.
 
Monte Rio Fire Protection District crews used helicopters and ATVs to reach the occupants of the two vehicles.
 
Sadly, the driver of the first Jeep and one of his sons both died at the scene.

The second driver suffered life-threatening injuries. A helicopter took him to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa. The two other boys sustained minor to moderate injuries.

An investigation into this crash is underway.
