Traffic on 5 Freeway at Jamboree Road Delayed by Fallen Objects in Lane

 
IRVINE, CA (January 16, 2022) — Officials closed the 5 Freeway on Wednesday morning after multiple objects fell from a vehicle, causing delays in traffic.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was northbound on the freeway when several objects fell from its back onto the roadway. At about 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, drivers reported there was a ladder in the middle lanes on the northbound 5 Freeway.
 
Additionally, a vehicle hit a wooden ladder which then broke into pieces. The driver of the vehicle stopped and subsequently reported damage to their vehicle.
 
Meanwhile, officials had to shut down the northbound 5 Freeway near Jamboree Road to allow CalTrans to clear the roadway of the debris. The CHP said there was minimal damage and the area reopened after the clearing operations. There were also no injuries reported.
