Everardo Perez Jr. Dies in Head-On Collision on Q Street near Highway 178

 
BAKERSIFLED, CA (June 15, 2021) — Everardo Perez Jr. died in a head-on accident on Q Street near Highway 178 Saturday night.
 
According to Bakersfield Police, the crash occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. While responding to an accident near Jewett Avenue, police officers received additional calls about two other collisions near Q Street.
 
Upon responding, officers learned that one crash involved a pedestrian suffering moderate injuries and another one involving a head-on accident. Arriving at the scene of the head-on collision, police found 26-year-old Perez with major injuries. Soon after, paramedics responded and transported him to Kern Medical where he died shortly thereafter. Additionally, his female passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash.
 
Following the crash, authorities interviewed the uncooperative driver of the pickup truck and learned that he tried intentionally ramming other vehicles several times.
 
At this time, the suspect remains in custody for homicide and assault with a deadly weapon. If anyone has more information on this case, please call the authorities.
