Evangelina Marquez Hit, Killed by Car on Concord Boulevard

 
CONCORD, CA (September 29, 2021) – A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Concord Boulevard near Denkinger Road on Monday, September 27.
 
The Contra Costa County coroner’s office identified the victim as 72-year-old Union City resident Evangelina Marquez.
 
The accident happened around 7:20 a.m. about a mile from Concord High School and the El Dorado Middle School campus. According to Concord police, Marquez crossed Concord Boulevard when a vehicle traveling west struck her.
 
Officials transported her to a hospital. However, Marquez died some time later, according to Concord police.
 
The vehicle’s driver, a 69-year-old man, stayed at the scene to cooperate with investigators.
 
No arrests were made at this time and the accident remains under investigation. Police asked anyone with information about the case to contact Traffic Officer Parsley at 925-603-5963.
