Motorcyclist Couple Suffers Critical Injuries in Redding Hit-and-Run Crash

 
REDDING, CA (August 1, 2022) – Erin Masellis and Anthony Simons were critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Redding on Saturday, July 16.
 
The crash happened just after 8:00 p.m. on Lake Boulevard. According to the Redding Police Department, Masellis and her boyfriend Simons were driving their motorcycle when they collided with a vehicle.
 
After the crash, the male driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid. He was last seen driving a white lifted pickup truck headed north on Lake Boulevard.
 
The couple was rushed to Mercy Medical in Redding. Masellis had to get her leg amputated, and Simons suffered severe brain injuries.
 
A GoFundMe was set up to help the victims’ medical expenses.
