Erik Moen Dies in Long Beach Car Crash on 710 Freeway

 
LONG BEACH, CA (May 19, 2022) — One person died in a car accident with a semi-truck on the 710 Freeway near Long Beach Boulevard on Saturday, May 14.
 
Authorities identified the fatal victim as 57-year-old Erik Moen of Yorba Linda.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle accident happened around 6:00 a.m. Reports described that a semi-truck and a vehicle collided, causing the semi-truck to turn over on its side and roll for an unknown distance.
 
When the LBFD arrived at the scene, they witnessed the truck on its side and the other vehicle on fire. Police believe a Ford truck and a Honda Civic were involved.
 
Soon after, Moen was declared dead.
 
Firefighters extricated one person from the wreckage using the “Jaws of Life.”
 
Two other people were transported to a local hospital by fire personnel, one with more serious injuries than the other, officials said. However, the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
 
At this time, an ongoing investigation should confirm any outstanding details.
